Embolisation- Transarterial chemo embolisation

Embolisation- Transarterial chemo embolisation (TACE) is a technique chemotherapy containing beads are released into an artery supplying a liver tumour, thus partly blocking off it’s blood supply and causing it to shrink. It is particularly useful for tumours with a very rich blood supply such as Hepatocellular, neuroendocrine or Carcinoid tumours. In some cases it can even be effective for very large or widespread liver tumours.
